Cards on the table — I grew up in Listowel, so to say I have a soft spot for The Listowel Arms is a bit of an understatement.
For generations it's been a focal point and proud cornerstone of our town. Baptisms, big birthdays, debs balls, funerals — that great big Georgian doorway has welcomed us at all stages of our lives. However, there's one occasion where The Arms shines even more like a supernova — a wedding. It's truly one of the greatest wedding venues in Munster, and a perfect spot for wedding photography.
The Ballroom
The ballroom is magic. Just magic. A huge wall of glass on the south side overlooks the River Feale and, of course, the island racecourse.
You never know who might drop in — cousins, friends, nephews. Ahem.
Old Townhouse Charm
The entire hotel is steeped in old townhouse charm — you can tell it's been lovingly maintained over the years. It's the little details that make The Listowel Arms truly unique, and such a lovely place for wedding photography.
Patrice and her crew leave nothing to chance — every little thing is always perfect, and sets the scene for a beautiful and relaxed wedding day.
The Speeches
Surrounded by your friends and family, relax into the wedding speeches. Listowel is renowned for writers — that gift of the pen seems to extend to the wedding speeches too. One of my favourite parts of wedding photography is snapping the speeches, and the reactions on all the faces.
The Dance Floor
The dance floor in The Listowel Arms is superb — trust me, I've spent many hours on it, between the teenage discos of my youth and now photographing the wedding couples and their nearest and dearest.
Wedding photography at The Listowel Arms Hotel is a joy and a privilege — so much fun, so much beauty, and so much craic. You'll be in good hands here.
