A winter wedding on an island, with the whole castle to themselves.

There was a sign at the door that said it all: Waterford Castle was closed for a private event. Cian and the lads got ready with a lot of fuss over buttonholes, while Sarah got ready by the castle windows.

The ceremony was in the wood-panelled hall, down a red aisle by candlelight, with a ribbon tied around their hands. Afterwards we went out to the big oak doors and the old stone walls for portraits, and the whole wedding party lined up in the courtyard.

Dinner was by candlelight, and later the hall turned pink with the lights for a packed dance floor.
