Privacy

Your privacy.

This page explains what happens to the details you share through this website, in plain English.

Who I am

This website is run by Stephen O'Sullivan Photography, a wedding photographer based in Killaloe, Ireland. I'm responsible for your information. If you have any questions about it, email me at stephen@stephenosullivan.ie or call 087 222 5412.

What I collect and why

When you send an enquiry. The enquiry form asks for your names, email, phone number and, if you choose to share them, your wedding date, venue, how you heard about me and a message. I use these to reply to you, send you my pricing and keep in touch about your enquiry. The legal basis is that you asked me to get back to you about a possible booking.

When you use the chat box. The messages you type come to me so I can reply. To keep the same conversation going if you come back, your browser stores a random ID, and the chat tells me which page you're on while it's open.

When you book. If we go ahead, your contract explains how I handle your details and photos from then on.

I don't sell your details or pass them to anyone for their own marketing.

Cookies and analytics

With your permission, I use Google Analytics to see how people find and use the site: which pages they visit, roughly where they're from and what device they use. It also tells me when someone sends an enquiry or taps the phone or WhatsApp links, so I know which pages are helping. If you arrived from one of my Google ads, the same cookies let Google Ads know whether an enquiry came from that ad. I don't use them to follow you around the web with ads. It uses cookies, and Google may combine this with other information it holds. Google's own policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Analytics only loads if you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click No thanks, it doesn't load. Your choice is saved in your browser so you aren't asked every time. You can change your mind at any time with the cookie settings link, which is also at the bottom of every page.

The site also saves a few small things in your browser so it works properly, such as your cookie choice, the chat ID above and whether you've already closed the enquiry pop-up. These aren't used for tracking.

Who helps me run things

Like most small businesses, I use a few trusted services to run the website and handle enquiries. They only use your details to provide that service to me:

Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where your details leave the EU, they're protected by the safeguards data protection law requires, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiry details while we're in touch and for a reasonable time afterwards, in case you come back to me. After that I delete them. If you'd like your details removed sooner, just ask.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to:

Email stephen@stephenosullivan.ie and I'll sort it out. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
